Scams and hoaxes
Consumers lose approximately £11.4 billion to scammers each year.
Criminals worldwide send bogus letters, emails, text messages or make phone calls to trick people into parting with their money, or to obtain data and personal information.
We have partnered with the National Trading Standards Scams Team to help fight scams. Through this collaboration, we are supporting the Friends Against Scams campaign, a national initiative which goal is to help people recognise, avoid, and report scams.
The campaign empowers individuals to protect themselves and others by raising awareness and offering practical tools.
