West Moseley traffic reduction scheme

As part of the Birmingham Transport Plan, the council aims to reduce traffic in residential areas so that it is nicer to be outside and safer for people to walk, wheel and cycle.

The western part of Moseley ward experiences high levels of traffic for what is primarily a network of residential streets. Speeding, dangerous driving, and high levels of congestion at peak times are all common occurrences. Residents have been campaigning for something to be done about traffic in this area for a considerable time.

To address this, we are proposing the West Moseley traffic reduction scheme, a trial closure of Moor Green Lane north of its junction with Shutlock Lane. The closure will be implemented through an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order (ETRO).

The scheme is open for consultation until Sunday 9 March 2025
