Young poet laureate Birmingham
Birmingham has had its own Young Poet Laureate for the city since 2005.
Since that time, our Young Laureates have inspired thousands of young people at workshops and events and through their writing and performances.
They have appeared on radio and tv, met politicians and royalty and written about sport, romance, gaming and what it's like to be a young person today. They have also been asked to write and perform their poetry at important events in the city and beyond including Holocaust Memorial Day, International Women's Day and Black History Month.
is the current Poet Laureate for Birmingham, for the period October 2024 to 2026.
