Automatic enrolment for free school meals

There are eligible children who do not receive free school meals and have not applied to their school to receive them.

To make sure these children receive the free school meals they are entitled to, we are starting a process of auto-enrolment. We will send letters to families of eligible children who are not receiving them and have not applied through a school for free school meals, to let them know about the automatic enrolment.

We can only auto-enrol children we have previously written to.

Opting out

You have the right to opt out of automatic enrolment. To do this, you must contact us within 3 weeks of receiving your eligibility letter.

If we do not hear from you within 3 weeks, we will enrol your child for free school meals.

Contact us

You only need to contact us if you do not want to receive free school meals, or you think there is a mistake in our records.
